A Submitter got a Contract

Here's proof that it can happen: Dawn Johnson emailed me to let me know that she was offered a publication contract for her novel BROKEN by Dreamspinner Press.

Click here to read the original query for BROKEN. You can link to revisions from that post.

Congrats Dawn, and thanks to everyone who offers advice on this blog. A little bit of help can make a big difference in someone's career.

Thank you, all. I'm very excited and a bit nervous. Uncharted territory and all.

OMG, Dawn, that's excellent news! Mucho congratulations... may we all be so blessed someday.

I wasn't visiting the Slushpile regularly when you first posted your query, but I've read it since - and I think the story sounds incredibly poignant. Good luck with it - and don't be nervous. One of the hardest hurdles is past. :-)

Dawn, congratulations! This is huge news! I know you worked hard at your query, so I can only imagine how hard you worked on the book itself. It must be fabulous! Let us know when you have a pub date.

Awesome news! I think your query actually changed from your last one you posted here. Do you mind sharing it, perhaps, so everyone can see the winnah?

Dawn,

If you want me to post the winning query, you can either email it to me rjdaley101071@gmail.com or submit it like you did the other version.
